This Yugoslavian epic was made for the 30th anniversary of Battle of Sutjeska, the toughest battle Yugoslav Partisans had to fight in WWII. Portraying the struggle of the Partisans against the might of the German army and the military exploits of Marshall Tito (Richard Burton) who is instrumental in resisting Nazi efforts to exterminate his countrymen. He leads the partisans on a dangerous trek to safety, culminating in a climactic battle at the Sutjeska River.
