If you're in the need for a bit of an action-puzzle distraction then Rusty Orb's fresh release may spark your interest. It's a simple game originally designed for touchscreens but works fine with a keyboard and mouse set-up too.

Underground in an alien planet, Rusty 01 is searching for some valuable gems. You'll jump into this sidescroller with only a limited amount of abilities at your disposal; namely movement with a fuel-reliant thruster and a grappling chain. The former provides an element of risk while the latter is used for grabbing boxes to put on floor triggers to open doors, clutching on the wall when need and of course snatching up those valuable gems. The game features some physics based puzzles and willbe more than happy to throw some alien creatures your way.

We've given it a little playthrough on the PC and can confirm that it plays pretty well. WASD controls are used to move around quite nimbly and the mouse can be dragged away from your vehicle in order to extend your grapple chain, or swiped through it to cut it off. The levels are simple, at least at the start, and the game's visuals make it very easy to keep staring into your monitor.
