Post Description
'Back To Bach' was originally released in 1992 and has been unavailable for some time
The album features re-workings of some of Bach's Preludes & Fugues by Julian Colbeck and Jonathan Cohen with contributors including Steve Hackett, Mary Hopkin, and John Keeble
To quote the original sleeve notes....
"BACK TO BACH is designed for active listening and enjoyment. Since these compositions are based upon accurate templates of the fugues and preludes you can accompany the version without Jonathan Cohen, live, yourself. The edition used is Czerny".
This means that most of the tracks are on the album twice - once as just the composed backing (to which you can play the piano part), and once with the piano and backing
Julian Colbeck is a prolific and accomplished musician, writer, music journalist and technical consultant. Julian first joined Steve in 1990 for a TV special and since appeared with him on albums including Time Lapse, Guitar Noir and Blues With A Feeling
