John Lester (Johnny) Nash Jr. (Houston, Texas, 19 augustus 1940) is een Amerikaans zanger.
Hij begon zijn zangcarrière in een baptistisch kerkkoor. Op zijn dertiende kreeg hij lokale bekendheid in Houston door een optreden in de televisieshow "Matinee". Rond 1956 zong Johnny Nash allerlei stijlen: van country tot soul en van pop tot easy listening. Daarom kreeg Johnny Nash in datzelfde jaar een eigen televisieshow, waarin hij zeven jaar lang optredens verzorgde.
In 1957 tekende Johnny Nash een platencontract met ABC Paramount. A very special love was zijn succesvolste plaat uit de jaren vijftig, op basis van de Amerikaanse hitlijst (23e positie). In het begin van de jaren zestig versleet Johnny Nash zonder succes enkele platenmaatschappijen. Aan het einde van de jaren zestig bezat Johnny Nash een eigen studio in Jamaica en scoorde hij enkele reggae-achtige hits, waaronder een cover van de Sam Cooke-hit Cupid.
In 1971 woonde Johnny Nash in Engeland, waar zijn nummer I can see clearly now in 1972 een grote hit werd. In 1973 werd zijn bewerking van Stirr it up (origineel door Bob Marley) een hit. Hierna volgden Tears on my pillow (een Engelse Nummer 1-hit in 1975) en What a wonderful world (1976).
In 1985 maakte Nash een terugkeer in de hitlijsten met Rock me baby, welke in de Nederlandse Top 40 goed was voor een 18e positie en in het Verenigd Koninkrijk voor een 47e positie.
