As we reported back in November 2009, Gordon Ramsay will indeed be hosting the US version of Masterchef. We were wrong in our hopes for mentors / judges though, with restaurateur and winemaker Joe Bastianich taking up one role and four-star chef Graham Elliot Bowles taking up the other.

Ramsay was sucking up about the pair saying how excited he is to work with them both, sure Gordon, but we all know at the end of the day it?s all about YOU. I don?t know what it is about Ramsay people still find entertaining, I?m watching the latest season of US Kitchen Nightmares and the guy has become a charicature of himself, arms flailing, over the top pronunciations and of course plenty of swears. He?ll have to tone all the crap down for this show if it?s to stick to its original format. Masterchef US premieres July 29 on Fox.
