Ganya is an orphan, who is at the mercy of his evil uncle and aunt. As the sole inheritor of a large property, his life is made miserable by them, who have him around only to take hold of his riches.

Unable to tolerate their behavior, he runs away from home, and reaches Lord Ganesha's temple. Gangu Tai takes pity on him and takes him home. She cares for him like her own son, and Ganya is happy to have a mother that he never found in his aunt. But his happiness is short lives, for he is discovered and taken back to his uncle and aunt.

Once more he is ill treated, and feeling helpless he cries his heart out in front of Ganesha's idol. Will God come to earth and protect the little boy?
