Voordat je de AceKard 2i kan gebruiken op een Nintendo 3DS, moet je deze eerst flashen op een Nintendo DS waarop de kaart werkt. Dit kan bijvoorbeeld een DS Lite zijn. Nadat je de AceKard 2i geflashed hebt, werkt deze in 'DS mode' op de Nintendo 3DS
