Järnets Änglar (2007) aka Iron Angels

The film tells the story of three women working at a large iron works plant in Lulea, Sweden and their tumultuous private lives. The three women are "singers" in a local band "Black Island Sisters" nights and weekends. The three are in different stages of life: Mona, a middle-aged single mother who is desperately lonely, who drinks too much and neglects her son; Ann Britt, an optimistic and candid woman who cares for her elderly father and Blondie, a beautiful young girl who dreams of becoming a songwriter. While the women are very different they do have two things in common. They work at the iron works and all seem to come fully alive only when performing at their raucous concerts. This comedy follows them through romance and disappointment.  As with other Swedish relationship dramas there are two main ingredients: at least one scene containing the naked human body and at least one occasion where we get to see and hear loud disagreements. We get to see a variety of traditional human conflict, a clear example of the angry, jealous and ignorant people who make daily life what it is.  Alexander Skarsgard plays the part of Stefan, also an employee at the iron works plant with quite a bit of trivial knowledge on the topic of iron. Stefan's idea of small talk while on a date is painfully boring and hilarious at the same time. Stefan is quite obviously not an expert in the dating world. While Alexander does not have a lot of screen time in this movie, his parts are funny, romantic and enjoyable.
