Post Description
Studio Album, released in 1999, Italy
Italiaanse formatie met op hun 3e album folky prog met een Gothic randje.
Pasta-prog met een pittig donker sausje.
Italian band Dunwich moves more towards gothic folk with the release of "Eternal Eclipse of Frost". In this album there is a real monk choir! It"s an impressive addition to their medieval atmospheric progressive music. This is a little heavier than the previous release "Il Chiarore Sorge Due Volte". It is mostly just due to the guitar which is much more metallic compared to their previous release but the guitar solos are used sparingly. In addition to the normal prog instruments the band also uses trombone, celtic harp, violin, viola, cello and the baroque instrument hurdy-gurdy. When you add a monk choir that reminds the Gregorians you can imagine that the sound is rather medieval and folksy. The band has succeeded to capture this medieval feeling quite successfully. The singer Katya Sanna"s voice is used much more powerfully compared to the previous album and overall this album is a huge improvement to their previous album.
