Post Description
For the first time in history more people reside in cities than in the countryside. Andrew Marr looks at the contrasting lives of those who live in five great urban centres, including one of the oldest of them all, London. Taking in the sleek skyscrapers of rapidly growing Shanghai, he also spends a night in a one-room shack in a tough Dhaka slum, while Tokyo's hi-tech sheen couldn't be further from the colourful street culture of sprawling Mexico City. His travels reveal how the structure of each place defines every aspect of its inhabitants' daily lives, but how will these metropolises develop in the future?
