Russian Patriarchate Choir olv. Anatoly Grindenko.
Grindenko Anatoly was born in Kharkov. He studied in Petersburg and Moscow special musical schools in violin class. As a member of the Moscow baroque trio Orpharyon he took part in ancient music festivals in Utrecht, Columbus (USA), 'Sopran' (Hungary), Tallin, Riga, Leipzig (Bachfestival) and many others. Under the direction of the honored restaurateur of Russia Adolf Ovchinnikov he painted icons according to ancient canons.
From 1985 he has organized on benediction of archbishop Pitirim the man's choir in Moscow attached to the Moscow Patriarchate. From this time the choir regularly accompanies church services using Old Russian motets. The purpose of creation of the choir is reestablishment of Old Russian choral singing and its return to church service practice. The choir has released 13 CDs in France (opus-111, Paris), 3 CDs in Russia, one in Germany and one in Poland. Byzantine arts can be found in the book "Harmonia Divina" by A. Grindenko and the famous restaurateur of ancient icons A. Ovchinnikov published by "Opus 111", Paris (1998). The performance level is witnessed by numerous invitations to the best European festivals, concerts in famous concert halls. The choir is unique in that it is a special creative laboratory, in which a union is implemented between scientific and practical activity.
The main activities of the choir are:
1. Collecting of an alphabet that could help read the ancient Russian art.
2. Giving sound to the manuscripts in their fullness and bringing them back to the church service.
