The Jefferson Coker Band formed in the summer of 2010, when he and fellow singer/songwriter Kevin Church started gaining notice in the Charleston, SC music scene... They felt the best way to gain a large audience was to put a full band together.. hence.. The Jefferson Coker Band.
Jefferson's first release "FREEDOM", released in January of 2011 was recieved with critical sucess...
Ballard Lesemann of The Charleston City Paper said, "Jefferson Coker is a unique musician with a hell of a life story. He manages to imbue his songs with the joy found in rock's most elegant records and with the sadness found in the most heartbreaking blues and country masterpieces"
