Seizoen: 2 - Afl. 2. Backwards Day - A married couple has been trying to get pregnant for 8 long years and it's taken its toll on them and their marriage. 
The wife now suspects the husband is having an affair with an attractive lady reporter. 
She kidnaps the reporter and holds her hostage at knifepoint.SRU is called in to defuse the situation. 
Sam and Jules continue to conceal their relationship but have second thoughts about moving forward.

Flashpoint gaat over de Strategic Response Unit (SRU), is een elite en hoog opgeleide groep of agent die gijzelaars redden, bommen ontmantelen en gangs stoppen. 
De titel serie is vernoemd naar het psychologies aspect van het werk, wat ook de focus is van de show: 
In het hoofd komen van de verdachte om zijn emoties "flashpoint" te gebruiken om de zaak veilig en zonder geweld op te lossen. 
Alleen als laatste oplossing word geweld gebruikt.
