Cynthia Khan, born into a rich family, plays a female police officer. Her father is getting married with a beautiful woman named Siu-hung (Kara Hui). Cynthia suspects that her future step-mom is only aiming at her family's wealth. With time on her hands due to a suspension, Cynthia secretly launches an investigation against her. However, a private detective, Charlie Chan (Anthony Wong), steps in and complicates the situation, setting into motion a relationship comedy involving her police supervisor (Tommy Wong)  and the private investigator - both of whom are Khan's admirers. In the background, a band of assassins called "The Five Fingers" has been reduced to four by Khan's actions, and comes seeking revenge.
