Post Description
Overshadowed by their British Invasion cohorts The Rolling Stones, 1960s rockers The Pretty Things
mined the same raunchy blues-rock territory but remained woefully unknown to American audiences.
In the late '60s, the band began experimenting with the burgeoning psychedelic movement,
culminating in their 1968 opus SF SORROW. A concept album detailing the tragic life of its eponymous
character, SF SORROW predated The Who's TOMMY as the first rock opera and actually served as
Pete Townsend's inspiration for that work. This DVD captures The Pretty Things performing
SF SORROW in its entirety at the legendary London studios of Abbey Road, the birthplace of the
original recording.
Features Arthur Brown as the narator and special guest David Gilmour of PINK FLOYD on guitar.
Phil May - Vocals and percussion
Wally Waller - Bass and Vox
Dick Taylor - Lead Guitar and Vox
John Povey - Keyboards, Percussion, Sitar
Skip Allen - Drums and Percussions
Frankie Richard - Akoustic Guitar
