Shania Twain"s rise to stardom is more rags-to-riches than Cinderella. Twain is an outspoken, determined woman who dealt with the tragedy of losing both mother and father, and then her subsequent responsibility as surrogate parent to her younger siblings. This edition of VH1"s Behind the Music examines her background, her career in Canada, and her rise to stardom. It even touches on the less than overwhelming response from the media that greeted her initial appearances. Regarded by some as a lightweight contender in the country and pop entertainment pantheons, she"s nonetheless garnered awards and topped charts, knocking "em dead with her personal style.
