Divorce, dysfunction, and a Diesel jeans model all add up to another painfully funny stand-up performance by Christopher Titus. With apologies to Barbra Streisand, not for Titus is love soft as an easy chair. It is, to hear him tell it, a dark, dark abyss that inspires thoughts of suicide and murder. Titus chronicles in excruciating detail the breakup of his 15-year marriage. This is, he admits, his side of the story, but he is as harsh on himself ("I'm just a thin layer of charming with some funny sprinkles wrapped around a huge creamy center of raging, arrogant a-hole," he states) as he is on his ex. His most cutting material concerns his alcoholic father and "Batman villain" of a mother, who were not exactly matrimonial role models. As this piece unfolds, we cringe with the anticipation of some fresh hell visited upon Titus.
