Metallica - Freeze 'Em All: Live in Antarctica

Over their 30 years as a band, Metallica have played just about everywhere and exploited every known gimmick (orchestral album, reputation tarnishing concept album, and mis-judged hip-hop collaboration) so it’s no surprise to find them trekking down the heliport of the Argentine Antarctic Base Carlini for a gig.
The band played inside a dome on the base just a few hours ago, transmitting the music to their audience of competition winners from Latin America and scientists from Russia, South Korea, China, Poland, Chile, Brazil and Germany via headphones with no amplification. In other words: No penguins were exposed to any James Hetfield grunts.
Their 10-song set included ‘Tallica classics such as ‘Creeping Death’, ‘For Whom the Bell Tolls’, ‘Sad But True’, ‘Welcome Home (Sanitarium)’, ‘Nothing Else Matters’, ‘Enter Sandman’ and ‘Seek & Destroy’.Full setlist below. “The energy in the little dome was amazing!” declared the band on Facebook. “Words can not describe how happy everyone was.”
Antarctica was the only continent Metallica hadn’t played in their three-decade run. In an interview with San Francisco radio ahead of the show, guitarist Kirk Hammett said they were looking forward to playing both the North and South Pole. “It’s pretty wacky,” he said. “It’s crazy, because I don’t deal with cold very well, so I have my reservations. But it should be pretty cool, because we’ve played the North Pole before — we’ve played Tuktoyaktuk [Canada, in 1995]— so we have to play the South Pole. Tuktoyaktuk was fine; it wasn’t as cold as it sounded. But I have a feeling that the Antarctica is a lot colder than the North Pole. And it should be an interesting experience.”

Metallica’s Antarctica setlist:
