NavCore 8.544 is build for the TomTom "START" model (oktober 2009)
that is the most simply TomTom device in the TomTom collection.
It's status bar has 3 sections like NavCore 9.xxx but the hardware
specifications are very low. This results in more free RAM and
a good performence especially on a TomTom ONE with small screen.
