Fifteen miles off of a dirt road in the dusty nowheres of Walker County, Texas Jonathan Clay and Zach Chance found their calling. Jamestown Revival was born on a back porch and bred in Austin before relocating to Los Angeles.
The debut full-length from Texas duo Jamestown Revival is fittingly titled Utah since Jonathan Clay and Zach Chance recorded the album’s eleven tracks in a makeshift log cabin studio in a the state’s Wasatch Mountains in the wilderness where Jamestown Revival feels most comfortable. It’s heavily autobiographical, telling the stories of their adventures, their discomforts, and their observations. The pair, along with their band and engineer, set out to convert it into a temporary recording studio. Performed live, with no headphones, and entirely to tape, the process captured the moments in the room.
