An attack on a women's shelter leads Lindsay to reveal a secret; Roman and Burgess go undercover into the world of online dating.
Investigating a call of shots fired at a grocery store, Intelligence discovers a secret battered women's shelter that was attacked by an unknown assailant. The assailant killed a security guard and injured several women before fleeing. After tending to the wounded and interviewing several witnesses, the team discovers that one of the women from the shelter was abducted. As the team digs deeper, the case reveals a twisted trail of a drug theft gone wrong, a powerful club owner out for revenge, and the abducted woman caught in the middle. Later, when the victim is found, Lindsay (Sophia Bush) gently draws the woman out by relating her own story of her time spent in a battered women's shelter when Lindsay was 11 years old and her mother was going through a rough time. It's a fact not unnoticed by Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer), who learns more about this difficult time in Lindsay's life over drinks at Molly's. Although the case gets solved, the true criminal - the powerful club owner who allegedly set events in motion - seemingly escapes justice after the assistant district attorney declines to prosecute. Voight (Jason Beghe), however, makes it clear to the club owner that he'd best get out of Chicago within 24 hours... or else.
Roman (Brian Geraghty) and Burgess (Marina Squerciati) take on the case of a victim who was robbed at knifepoint after responding to a "no strings attached" call from an online dating site. After constructing a profile and setting the trap, Burgess and Roman catch the assailant. Later, arm in arm, the two attend an event that Burgess was initially supposed to attend with Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger).
