Post Description
Studio Album, released in 1976, Italy.
Rock Progressivo Italiano.
AREA is simply the best italian band I"ve heard so far. And this album really provs my theory: this is modern, mediterranean popular music.A great mixture between genres, toghether with some good ideas about exploring the meaning of music itself and its realtonship with society. It"s not cerebral, not so hard to understand, we got some catchy pieces like "Diforisma Urbano" , that balance more complex jobs like "Scum". And in the end, well, here you got the seventies in Italy guys, you got that kind of popular free jazz that still makes me wonder if they were having fun or truly believing in what they were doing. And I think the boundary in music is very little about this. Listen to this wonderful album: and remember that yes, only fashion survived from the seventies, but at least somebody was truly experimenting, even if at that time weren"t completely understood.
