Yorkshire Building Society Band - Essays For Brass, Volume 1

Conducted by David King

The first of the three highly acclaimed, “Essay” releases from YBS showcases their first groundbreaking exploration of the hidden treasures of the Salvation Army brass band library. And what treasures they are.

Works from the pens of craftsmen such as Leslie Condon, Dean Goffin, Ray Steadman – Allen, Wilfred Heaton and of course Eric Ball are given thoughtful musical readings from David King and his charges. Superb performances ensue and it is a treat for the ears.

The bravery of choice of repertoire is reflected in the quality of the performances on show. The torchbearer for the even greater things that came in Volumes two and three.
