After their plane, Oceanic Air flight 815, tore apart whilst thousands of miles off course, the survivors find themselves on a mysterious deserted island where they soon find out they are not alone.

Locke sends Sawyer to Hydra Island to investigate the plane, but he encounters Widmore's people instead. Meanwhile, in another life, Sawyer is a police detective looking for Anthony Cooper, the man responsible for his father's death.
