Post Description
Aanvulling op posten van Solar Project.
Het is mijn eerste post ooit; dus ging er iets mis.
De post staat er 2 maal op omdat de 1e keer de par-bestanden niet meegekomen waren.
SOLAR PROJECT is, with fellow countrymen RPWL, one of the best PINK FLOYD-influenced bands of today. German musicians Robert VALET (Keyboards) and Peter TERHOEVEN (Guitar) recorded their first album under that name in 1990 ("The Final Solution"), and kept improving their art since. "World Games" (1992) and "The House Of S. Phrenia" (1995) use sounds from nature and background noise to accentuate the expressiveness of the floating keyboards (Some parts may also remind of Keith EMERSON and his swirling Moog). Recorded in 1997, "...In Time" is in the vein of their previous albums with this fondness for a sophisticated, perfectly arranged and mixed music with sound effects and use of noises, voices, giving a concept-background to their works such as in the PINK FLOYD albums. Four years later, the album with the very judiciously named "Five" can be considered the peak of this majestic band. Published in the year 2004 on the Musea label, "Force Majeure" is already the sixth effort by the group ! This conceptual album deals with the influence of the forces of nature on mankind, as well as the brutal elementary power inflicted by the homo-sapiens onto himself. Musically speaking, the listener"s going to find complex Progressive rock, sometimes heavy, sometimes gilmouresque. The own personality of SOLAR PROJECT shines all along those four long tracks (Divided in various parts), one of them reaching half an hour. Without any doubt, this release will be one of the absolute highlights of the year !
