Successful Bonefish Patterns with Chris Helm
Whether you are seasoned pursuer of the "Ghosts of the Flats" or planning your first bonefishing trip, the flies in this DVD will give a complete assortment of patterns for every situation. Bonefishing has long been one of Chris Helm's favorite quarry and he ties and explains the techniques of these patterns as well as some tips for fishing bonefish in the tropics. All of the bonefish patterns have been thoroughly tested in Belize, Mexico, and the Bahamas by Chris and his friends in a variety of weights, sizes and colors. With the exception of the deer hair crab, which may be more appropriate for permit but can be downsized for bonefish, all of these patterns are quick ties requiring inexpensive materials. The deer hair crab is a more challenging pattern, which requires the use of deer hair and making the legs. After tying a few of these wonderful crab flies they do become easier to complete. Don't leave home without a few permit patterns in your fly box. Chris Helm has been tying flies for 35 years. Although he is well known for his study of whitetail deer and working with deer hair, he ties and teaches all types of flies. The Buz Buszak Memorial Fly Tying Award was given to Chris Helm, which is the highest award available to any tyer. Chris has written numerous articles on deer hair, thread, specific fly patterns for various fly fishing and fly tying magazines both in the USA and abroad. To date he has completed 11 fly tying DVDs and enjoys all types of fishing but has a special love for bonefish, permit, bass, bluegill, grayling and pike.
