A former fashion model and the toast of Andy Warhol's Factory, Nico came to be the glamorous, mysterious voice of a generation when she took up the microphone to sing with the Velvet Underground. Soon taking up a solo career, Nico released some of the era's most influential records while continuing to lead a much-publicized existence among the stars.
