voor de prog fans geen introductie nodig. The Pineapple Thief (TPT) ontstaat in 1999 uit de resten van Vulgar Unicorn. Centrale man van TPT is Bruce Soord, een in Duitsland geboren musicus en componist. TPT speelt muziek in het segment progressieve rock. Tot 2002 blijf het een band voor alleen in de studio, daarna wordt op veelvuldig verzoek van de fans een band geformeerd om concerten te geven.
