Op het Fakonahofplein in de Schilderswijk waait een nieuwe wind. Na het emotionele besluit van Mies en Dirk om afstand te nemen, lijkt het alsof 'nieuwkomer' Ali de scepter zwaait in het buurthuisje. 

Deze veranderingen gaan veel te snel voor de oudere buurtbewoners. Zij verdedigen Mies met hand en tand. Voor Ramon moet een medische keuring uitsluitsel geven of hij eindelijk toegelaten zal worden tot zijn droomopleiding.
