Austin City Limits” recently posted this true bluegrass show with comedian and actor Steve Martin, who is one heck of a banjo player, along with the fine Steep Canyon Rangers. Martin’s 2009 CD of banjo tunes, called “The Crow,” went on to win a Grammy award. Martin also has become a novelist, with the release on Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010 of “An Object of Beauty.” In addition, enjoy the music from 19-year-old phenom Sarah Jarosz. Her latest two-song release is called “The New 45” (Sugar Hill Records), and was released on Nov. 2. Jarosz is a sophomore at the New England Conservatory. “The New 45” includes an original Jarosz tune called “My Muse” and the Bill Withers chestnut called “Grandma’s Hands.” A full-length CD from Jarosz is expected in May 2011.
