"As Cary-based Epic Games' final installment in the world famous Gears of War trilogy nears its release date on Sep. 20, it has become Gamestop's highest selling pre-order this week, and overall there will be more than 20,000 midnight release parties for the game. But it is not just a standard release either, there are many different ways to get your hands on Gears of War 3 for Xbox 360.

Pre-orders topped a million, but whether Gears 3 will match the 12-million plus sales combined of the first two is obviously not yet known."
