Post Description
One of the shining stars of the roots revival visits Louisville, Kentucky, for a night of fiery fiddling, captured on the live DVD Alison Krauss + Union Station. Krauss is joined by singer-guitarist Dan Tyminski, guitarist Ron Black, Dobro player Jerry Douglas, and bassist Barry Bales as the quintet perform hits off their albums Now That I've Found You and New Favorite, as well as a few bluegrass standards. Some of the finer moments here include the sizzling version of "I Am a Man of Constant Sorrow," "Ghost in This House," and "Oh, Atlanta." In addition to the two-plus hours of live music on the single-disc release, the 2-disc set also includes interviews with the band, rare photos, home videos, and an "On the Road" featurette with candid backstage footage. All in all, it's a night of incendiary roots music gone mainstream, and thank heaven for that.
