Guys, I'm with you: I'd much rather get a straightforward experience that uses traditional controls than Wii remote waggles, so when I heard about EA Sports' direction with its NHL franchise on the Nintendo console I wasn't exactly sold on the idea. A hockey game that uses an actual hockey stick peripheral for its gameplay? Seems a bit gimmicky, at least on the surface. 

But after playing the game for about a half-hour at Electronic Arts' Media summit yesterday, I'm a believer. Oh, I might not be convinced I'd play this game over the standard dual analog Xbox 360 or PS3 version, but as a Wii-exclusive focused hockey title made for the masses, this unique attempt is, believe it or not, a whole lot of fun.
