The Cases that Need to Be Solved

In a tragic case that rocks the entire city of Chicago, a young boy is executed in what appears to be a gang-related hit. Voight (Jason Beghe) speaks for everyone when he labels the case a priority above all others. After the unit investigates several leads, suspicion turns towards the father, who has prior gang affiliations. Complicating the case is that tensions between the community and Chicago P.D. are at an all-time high - and that anyone with information pertaining to the crime is reluctant to come forward. After another shooting in gang territory, Lindsay (Sophia Bush) and Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) speak to the victim's mother to see if the two cases are related. For Antonio (Jon Seda), who has emotionally charged feelings for any case involving young victims, the case hits even harder. The case is solved when it's discovered that the young victim was part of a revenge plot that involved a case of mistaken identity. Later, hundreds of people gather for a candlelight vigil in honor of the victim.
