komt meer en meer boven wat ze eigenlijk hadden, nu nog
Stalin's Mest Soviet Submarines type M (2010)
Most Russian (and Soviet) submarines had no "personal" name, but were only known by a number, prefixed by letters identifying the boat's type at a higher level than her class. Those letters included:
(K) — (kreyserskaya, "cruiser")
(TK) — (tyazholaya kreyserskaya, "heavy cruiser")
(B) — (bolshaya, "large")
(S) — (srednyaya, "medium")
(M) — (malaya, "small")
Any of those prefixes could have C (S) added to the end, standing for (spetsialnaya) and meaning "designed for special missions."
Even today new types are disclosed or discovered.
