Post Description

Recorded from November 1993 to March 1994 at Polifonia Studio, Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil; The Serio Cardoso Theathre and Comep Studio, Sao Paulo, Brazil; Rainbow Studio, Oslo, Norway. Includes liner notes by Marlui Miranda. Marlui Miranda is an experienced singer, for two decades now working in the world category, in which one of her most representative works are with the Pau Brasil band. Passionate about the Brazilian Indians culture, she has been for two decades researching in depth their achievements, and this release is its result. Not an ethnographic work, but an artistic effort, the album is a free reread of the Indian tradition, but every effort to keep it as close as possible was made. Discrete instrumental work is provided by Uakti, whose wonderful, delicate, virtuose percussive work performed through self-made instruments arises as a natural choice. She is also joined by several special guests like Gilberto Gil and a selected few instrumentalists, but the concept of the album requires the emphasis in ethnic singing with very economic accompaniment. ~ Alvaro Neder (percussion).
