Zeezenders The Offshore Radio Years volume 14

RADIO CAROLINE - THE 80s PART 2 Caroline being joined by Laser 558, led to an offshore radio revival, that quickly captured a huge audience. UK commercial radio were losing listeners and pressured the government to take action. A four month long surveillance operation and blockade of the radio ships followed, which resulted in Laser being forced off the air. The next move by the UK, was to extend their territorial waters from 3 miles to 12 miles, meaning that Caroline's ship had to move further out to sea, to a less sheltered position. The 1987 hurricane apparently left Caroline relatively unscathed, but the storm had weakened the mast structure, which was soon to have devastating consequences.
This DVD is the second part of a set looking at Radio Caroline in the 1980's.
