“Still reeling from their dismissal by Def American and their inability to further their career despite constant press adulation, Wolfsbane grit their teeth and carried on as best they knew how. Signing with Bronze Records, they entered the studio in late 1993 with producer Simon Efemy (Paradise Lost, the Wildhearts) to record their eponymous third album, released in February 1994. A typically hyperkinetic set of not-so-memorable metal anthems, the album garnered the usual media support but went absolutely nowhere with the fans -- no thanks to singer Blaze Bailey, who announced his departure to join metal legends Iron Maiden shortly before the album's release. With that in mind, album highlights like "Lifestyles of the Broke and Obscure" and "Wings" (featuring the words "If I had wings, I'd fly") sound downright prophetic. (Bronze Records later issued a limited-edition double-disc version of the album containing some outtakes and leftovers and neatly wrapping up Wolfsbane's defunct career.)
