Notes: This is THE first-ever recording by Metallica!
Back in March 1982, Metallica had been jamming
on some old Diamond Head tunes for some time
aswell as a couple of their own original songs
and decided to make their first recording
attempt. They had decked-out Ron's garage for
the jams (practice sessions) and decided to
hang Ron's old Panasonic tape-recorder from
one of the rafters to do the job.
They used that to record 6 songs and this is
the result. I'm happy to say that this is the
actual tape that was in that tape-recorder.
Please note that James Hetfield only sings on
this recording and plays no guitars, you'll
notice that there is no rhythm guitar during
the guitar solos played by Dave Mustaine.
NB. The drop-outs on Sucking My Love and Helpless
are from the original recording process and are
NOT tape deterioration.
