This is the 2nd of Dietrich and Sternberg's collaborations in Hollywood. It's about an Austrian woman (Dietrich) who's husband died in the war and is forced to become a prostitute in order to eat. The head of the Austrian secret service discovers her and she becomes an agent to help fight the war. She uses her feminine charms to aid her country.
