De Fisherman's Box bevat de bluessessies die The Waterboys deden tussen januari 1986 en juni 1988 rondom het album Fisherman's Blues . Voor de 25e verjaardag van het album verschijnen de sessies als 6cd boxset, of als gelimiteerde deluxe 7cd boxset (op lp-formaat) met: de 6cd's uit de standaard boxset plus een zevende schijf waarop zeventien songs staan die Mike Scott tijdens het schrijfproces beïnvloed hebben, het originele album op lp , drie 12" formaat fotoprints, en een gebonden 32 pagina's tellend boekwerk waarin naast vele zeldzame foto's ook een essay zit van The Decemberists Colin Meloy, en een track by track toelichting van Mike Scott.
