Ask.Video.Eurorack.Modular.101.Oscillators.and.Noise:
Internationally renowned Eurorack expert DivKid (A.K.A. Ben Wilson) is here with this exclusive course on Oscillators. See all the different analog and digital oscillator modules in action and learn how to patch them up. ExperienceThe Oscillator is the fundamental starting place in any Eurorack system. There are digital, analog and hybrid ones that are capable of creating multitudes of different wave shapes. There are also hundreds of Eurorack manufacturers whose oscillators all look and sound different. This makes it really hard to figure out how they work and which ones are right for you.

Ask.Video.Eurorack.Modular.102.Mixers.and.Filters :
Ben starts by looking at the CP3 mixer from Manhattan Analog. After explaining the differences between linear and exponential mixing, he reveals how to shape your sound through filtering. Using Manhattan Analog’s Discrete SVVCF module, Ben demonstrates all the different filter flavors: Low Pass, High Pass, Band Pass and Notch. You also discover other filter modules such as the MiniMod Transistor Ladder Filter from AJH Synth, the Humpback filter from God’s Box and the Dtech VCF from Erica Synths. Along the way, you will learn about filter self-oscillation, one volt per octave tracking, envelope modulation, and more.

Ask.Video.Eurorack.Modular.103.Complex.Audio.and.Patching :
Now that you know about analog and digital oscillators, noise generators, mixers and filters, it’s time to have some fun with wavefolders, waveshapers, VCAs, and FM. In this course, using a plethora of Eurorack modules, Ben Wilson demonstrates how to morph your waveforms into an infinite variety of shapes!

Ben starts by demystifying wavefolders and waveshapers. He explains how you can, with these modules, completely transform a simple sine wave into the most complex wave shape. Listen as he put Sputnik Modular, Blue Lantern and Abstract Data modules to good use, and watch the waveshape transformation in real time on the oscilloscope. Next, he dives into carriers and modulators, and performs Frequency Modulation/Phase Modulation with the FM AID module from Happy Nerding. He also unveils the mystique behind VCAs, Vactrols, Low Pass Gates, the east-coast and west-coast sound, and he demonstrates some complex audio patching.

nJoy!
