Notes:   This soundtrack is one of the most widely bootlegged titles of all time. Originally released in the 1980's , the superior material made it an easy and appealing target for bootleggers. Several versions of the Elvis On Tour soundtrack have been released , both on vinyl and compact disc. 

This 1998 release has the best fidelity due to using MGM's remastered Japanese laser disc release !

Too many outstanding versions of songs on this release - GET THIS DISC ! And buy the VHS too - watching Elvis watch the Stamps quartet sing "Sweet Sweet Spirit" will bring tears to your eyes. A truly beautiful moment watching Elvis appreciate gospel music by the best gospel quartet in the business. 

There are some odd sound quality defects on this disc , there are some dropouts and apparent scratches (probably on the original disc). These defects take away from the magnificence of this cd release - the material used for the film deserves the finest fidelity possible. 

All live material used on "Elvis On Tour" was taken from April 1972 shows , studio material came from the March 1972 sessions.
