In US Special Operations, Air Force Pararescuemen is the most highly trained battle search and rescue experts. These are the specialists who stop at nothing to get pilot out when a he goes down behind opponent lines. "Parajumpers," nicknamed "PJ's" are also surgically trained combat medics. To become a PJ, full training takes more than two years. Early, students must survive one disreputably "Extended Training Day," tricky milestone planned to weed out anybody not able to the staggering demands of the PJ job. In any special operations training course competitors the torment of this single day nothing else, it is 24 hours of pure hell. Only nine men out of 100 survive the cut and are permitted to carry on the training as a PJ, in the end.
