Post Description
In the late 60's and early 70's, Jim Ed Brown hosted a weekly program called Country Place. The setting was a chalet in the mountains of east Tennessee. Each week a special guest would drop in to sing a few songs. There was a regular cast that included Blake Emmons, The Lancers and a new face to Nashville, Crystal Gayle. Each show made you feel like you were sitting around with the gang and enjoying a pleasant evening of music. It was not always country music. Jim Ed Brown and George Morgan perform their rendition of the Beatles YESTERDAY. But Country was king and this collection features many great country artists.
GEORGE MORGAN,
SKEETER DAVIS,
BOBBY BARE,
JEAN SHEPPARD,
CONNIE SMITH AND BILL MONROE are the stars.
A sample of some of the songs you will hear are
MISSISSIPPI by George Morgan,
ALABAMA JUBILEE by Jim Ed,
SOMEDAY SOON by Skeeter Davis,
RUBY & DETROIT CITY by Bobby Bare,
ANOTHER LONELY NIGHT by Jean Sheppard,
I FALL TO PIECES by Crystal Gayle,
WERE IS MY CASTLE by Connie Smith,
SUNDAY MORNING COMING DOWN by Jim Ed and Bill Monroe wraps it up with four bluegrass memories.
Over two hours of great music, fun and entertainment.
