SUBMARINE COMMANDER (1966)
Rear Admiral Ben Bryant (Author)
pdf
Commander Ben Bryant was Britain's greatest surviving submarine ace of World War II. His book is the most factual and authentic account published about how men live and fight aboard a sub - and packed with stories of his own wartime experience as commander of H.M.S. Sealion and H.M.S. Safari, probably the two most famous British submarines in the early days of the war.
This is a wonderfully written semi-autobiographical book following a man from initial acceptance into the British submarine community all the way thru to command. While some Americans may think its not applicable based on its roots, I would argue that it is very applicable, even for today. He shares many comical and some harrowing tales.
